Acting for Film and TV

Grades 7-12

 Introduces students to the development of skills in performance, script, and character development for on-camera acting.  Students will develop a foundation of skills and techniques for acting and auditioning for the camera.  Classes are Mondays 5:30PM-6:30PM.

Acting II: In Depth Character Development & Scene Study

 Grades 7-12

 

In this class, older acting students will take the skills they’ve learned and put them to work.  They will read, study, and perform scenes from a play.  Previous experience preferred but not required.  Classes are on Tuesdays from 5:00PM-6:00PM.

Creating Characters with Costumes, Make-up, and Hair

Grades 7-12

In this fun and creative course, students will build a costume based on a character of their choice, learn basic make-up skills for stage, and implement make-up and hair into their costume. Materials fee is included in the class fee; all supplies will be provided. Students will keep their costume at the end of class. All experience levels welcome. Classes are on Wednesdays 5:30PM-6:30PM

Dialects for the Stage

Grades 7-12

This course is an introduction to various dialects used onstage. Participants will have the opportunity to develop an intermediate ability to recognize, analyze, and reproduce dialects, culminating in a performance opportunity. Dialects covered will include, but are not limited to, various English, German, Russian, French, and Spanish accents.  Classes are on Wednesdays  4:30PM-5:30PM

GIVE MY REGARDS TO BROADWAY: MUSICAL THEATRE CLASS

GRADES 7-12

In this class, students will be taught songs from their favorite Broadway musicals! Students will also learn the scenes and dance numbers that accompany them. We will focus on proper vocal and dance techniques. The course will culminate in a musical theatre song and dance revue on the last day of class. All experience levels welcome. Each student should wear a pair of jazz shoes, ballet slippers, or sneaker-type shoes that are laced securely to the foot; no open-toed shoes. Students should dress comfortably so that they can stretch and move.

LET US ENTERTAIN YOU: SONGS FROM STAGE AND SCREEN:

MUSICAL THEATRE CLASS

GRADES 7-12

Students will learn basic vocal technique in a group setting, while learning numbers from musicals from stage and screen that are both age and skill appropriate.  The course will culminate in a musical theatre song revue on the last day of class. All experience levels welcome.

Teen Improvisation Class

Grades  7-12

Students will learn the techniques of Improvisational Theatre in a safe and       fun environment that fosters teamwork and creativity. Through games and exercises students learn commitment, scene work, and how to create characters in a moment’s time-all without a script. The class presents a final performance.   Classes are Tuesdays from 6:00PM-7:00PM.
