In this new two-week "show camp", aspiring actors and actresses will learn how to act in front of the camera, just like their favorite movie and TV stars! In this fun and informative camp, students will explore and work on scenes from sitcoms, dramas and commercials.  They will also learn about the production side and have a chance to write and perform their own scripts!

 Campers will also alternate roles, assisting in production of group scenes, lighting, slating and standing in as extras. At the end of the program, students will receive a DVD with a compilation of their work over the week.

There will be a special screening of the work produced during the camp on the last day.

Teen Improv show camp

In this camp, students will put together an entire improv show within one week! Campers will perform and act spontaneously using improv techniques. By playing games, and learning to take risks in a safe environment, campers will develop the ability to tell stories collaboratively and work in the moment.

Improv is an excellent tool for improving self-expression, listening skills, body awareness and boosting self-confidence, all while having a blast.

the rollicking tale of blackbeard show camp

 Avast, matey! Become pirates during this lively camp! Help the notorious Blackbeard search for his hidden treasure and the missing crew of his flagship, Queen Anne’s Revenge. Along the way, meet interesting people he knew, and learn about North Carolina’s 18th-century coastal history. Students will use song, dance, and acting skills to bring this adventure to life.

Campers who register for show camp will be placed into roles on the first day of camp. Campers will enjoy a pizza party with their castmates before the final performance.

IMPROV GAMES SHOW CAMP

Campers will explore the art of improvisation and improv comedy through games and focus exercises. Campers will use their imagination to learn character development, build worlds and create stories, all without a script!

There will be a performance on the last day of camp.

c.a.s.t. camp- hairspray

CAST Camp is for advanced actors ages 12-19.  During this camp, teens have two weeks to rehearse and perform a full-length musical! CAST Camp is an immersive learning experience and a chance for teens to work together and shine onstage.

Casting is by audition only - please wait and register for CAST Camp after your audition.   Appointments for Hairspray auditions can be made by coming to theatre (7713 Lead Mine Road in Raleigh)  or calling (919) 866-0228 . For your audition, please come prepared with a one-minute monologue and 16-32 bars of a song. PLEASE BRING MUSIC IN A BINDER FOR THE ACCOMPANIST.  An accompanist will be provided.

CAST Tech Camp is a new immersive learning experience that runs in conjunction to our popular CAST Camp for actors and provides teens with a chance to work together and shine backstage.

The Princesses and the goblins show camp

In this camp, students will put together an entire play within two weeks! Campers will enhance their acting skills while working as a team to create the set, props and costumes that go into a play. 

The Goblins, living in an underground mine, plan to dig their way into the king’s palace and capture it, but when the brave princesses realize what is happening, they stop the Goblins, save the palace, and bring peace to the kingdom. Campers will have an opportunity to both act and to work with full-body rod puppets and will use song, dance, and acting skills to bring this adventure to life. Contains fifteen roles for rising 5th- rising 9th graders. 

Campers who register for show camp will be placed into roles on the first day of camp. Campers will enjoy a pizza party with their castmates before the final performance.
