Our Board of Directors
Barbette Hunter is employed as a program coordinator in Raleigh Arts (City of Raleigh). In her previous position in Raleigh Arts, she was employed as the arts grant assistant for almost half a decade. Before joining the City of Raleigh, Barbette was employed by various agencies within the NC State government system over a span of 13 years. She has served as the interim Theatre/Dance Director and the grants coordinator for the North Carolina Arts Council. She is a freelance theatre artist who has performed with numerous theatre companies in the Triangle. Since 2004, she has been a teaching artist for various local theatre organizations, most recently, Cary Applause! Youth Theatre. She has served as the rehearsal stage manager for Applause! Youth Theatre on numerous productions. With a strong background in performance arts, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from NC State and completed some graduate work at UNC-Greensboro. Barbette is thrilled to continue to serve NRACT in such a meaningful and profound manner. She is eager to becoming a "worker bee" on numerous NRACT projects..
BARBETTE HUNTER
Chris Maxwell is a compassionate, creative, and dedicated educator, arts advocate, and performer who proudly serves on the Board of Directors for North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre. In addition to his board service, Chris is a familiar face on the NRACT stage, having appeared in numerous productions over the years. Professionally, he is a Senior Educator Support Specialist at SAS in Cary, North Carolina, where he partners with educators to design meaningful professional learning experiences that improve teaching and student outcomes. With extensive experience in classroom leadership, project planning, and instructional support, Chris is passionate about helping others grow and succeed. His commitment to collaboration, creativity, and lifelong learning extends beyond education into the performing arts, where he believes community theatre has the power to inspire, connect, and transform lives. Chris is honored to support NRACT's mission of enriching the community through exceptional theatrical experiences and arts education.
CHRIS MAXWELL
Christine Rogers is a communications leader and active member of the Triangle Arts community. She currently serves as Director of Communications and Marketing for The Salvation Army of Wake County and has more than 20 years of experience leading public relations, marketing, and corporate communications initiatives for healthcare, life sciences, and nonprofit organizations.
A passionate advocate for the performing arts, Christine has appeared in numerous stage productions across the region, including several productions at North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre. Her theater credits include leading roles in Calendar Girls, Roe, Steel Magnolias, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. She also serves as a board member at the YMCA of the Triangle and a docent at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
Christine is honored to serve on the NRACT Board and support its mission to bring exceptional community theater and arts education to the region.
CHRISTINE ROGERS
Clare has been immersed in Raleigh's community theatre space since she began taking classes and performing in shows as a teen. She's participated on stage, backstage, and supporting theatre education programs for several local community theatre organizations over the years. In her career, she's been a social studies educator and currently works as a Learning Developer building online courses supporting medical workers. NRACT represents a special performing arts space where important stories are prioritized, and a safe environment is provided for artists of all walks of life to learn and grow. She wants to continue to support the education and growth of our beautiful community through the arts, and she's beyond grateful for the opportunity to do so on NRACT's Board of Directors.
CLARE SHERK
Fred is originally from Kansas but have lived in NC for over 20 years. He has a PhD in psychology and serves as a professor at North Carolina Wesleyan University, where he also directs the honors program and heads the psychology department. He’s a published author of a textbook about media and psychology, which is one of his areas of expertise. He is awed by the power of live theatre, and I have especially loved the bold, inclusive projects that NRACT has staged over the years. He’s not a performer, but many of his loved ones are. He decided to give back to the theatre community by donating his time and energy to the NRACT board, where he felt he could make a difference.
FRED SANBORN
Jason has built a diverse career in healthcare, serving in roles ranging from medical assistant and health center administrator to clinical operations director and director of physician operations within Duke Health, UNC Health, and private practices throughout the Triangle. He currently works in population health and is passionate about improving healthcare quality and patient outcomes. Jason earned an MBA from Northeastern University and a Doctorate of Health Sciences from A.T. Still University. He has also shared his knowledge with future healthcare professionals by teaching medical assisting courses at local community colleges and serving as an associate professor in the Health Administration program at the University of Arizona Global Campus.
As a resident of the North Raleigh community, Jason values the role local arts organizations play in bringing neighbors together and enriching community life. He has been consistently impressed by the quality and creativity of productions at North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre and is excited to support a theater that is both a neighborhood asset and a vibrant part of the local community.
JASON WHEELER
Jeff Aguiar is the Director of Engagement and Education with PlayMakers Repertory Company. His career in theatre has included work on and offstage across central North Carolina. As a PhD candidate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution, his work and research centers group facilitation, arts-based approaches to peacebuilding, and critical community development. Working across various projects and local theatre circles, Jeff strives to stay active and connected with artists, art-makers, and creative communities to dream better tomorrows.
JEFF AGUIAR
Katherine is entering her second year as a full board member at NRACT after previously participating on the Marketing Committee for a year and a half. She currently serves as the Marketing Committee Chair. Katherine has a degree in Architecture, ran a small business for 5 years, and worked in real estate marketing before landing her current day job in marketing at a Raleigh-based software company. When looking to grow her connections within the Raleigh community, Katherine decided to revisit her childhood love of theatre and audition for a show at NRACT in 2021. She was welcomed into the NRACT family with kindness and open arms, and NRACT has grown into a ‘home away from home’ for her. She is grateful for the opportunity to support the mission of the theatre she loves so dearly through her service on the board.
KATHERINE PEARCE
Originally from the Midwest, Kim moved from NYC to the Raleigh area with her family just over two decades ago and has loved her life in the Triangle. After the launch of her three offspring and the rounds of hockey, gymnastics and Irish dance, she then had the opportunity to pursue other interests like theater. Falling in love with the Triangle’s vibrant and dynamic theater community, she began writing reviews of area productions for Beltline to Broadway and became a member of the American Theatre Critics/Journalists Association. She also ventures up to NYC from time to time to catch a bit of Broadway. Her latest venture is Spotlight on the Theatre, a segment broadcasted on Lights Up! (WHUP). Look for her at shows, madly scribbling in a notebook!
KIM JACKSON
Lola Ureña is thrilled to join NRACT’s Board of Directors! She recently returned to the theatre community after a ten-year hiatus and is honored to have been welcomed back with open arms. As a queer, Latinx, and neurodivergent human, Lola intends to represent and advocate for these identities, uplifting all marginalized voices within the NRACT space. Throughout high school she attended/participated in various NRACT productions and workshops, allowing her to directly witness the positive impact that local theatre has on this community. She went on to attend East Carolina University where she received her degree in theatre arts, specializing in the Meisner acting technique. She has extensive experience producing high-quality burlesque shows throughout the triangle, continuing to produce and perform locally. Since 2021 Lola has owned and operated her floral design company, Flowers by Lola, creating magical, bespoke arrangements for weddings and events throughout NC.
LOLA UREÑA
Mike McGee is a Raleigh based Director who works by day for IBM. He has been on the NRACT board for 3 years and has directed Between the Lines and Cruel Intentions at NRACT and will be directing Once Upon a One More Time in 2027. Mike loves the true community element of NRACT, being a welcoming place for all people!
MICHAEL MCGEE
As an attorney, N’kia has handled a broad range of contracts, investigations, and disputes, as well as high-level business strategy such as regulatory compliance and governance, strategic alliances (joint ventures, partnerships, sponsorships, etc.), business sales/purchases, real property sales/purchases, and scaling initiatives. Her work has touched a variety of practice areas, including employment/HR, arts/entertainment, intellectual property, and real property (construction, residential and commercial property rentals, premises liability, etc.). She also has experience in journalism, marketing, and PR. She is energized by creativity, enjoy supporting creatives, and am drawn to NRACT's intimate space, boundary-pushing programming, and mission to both entertain and educate.
N’KIA
Samantha Parrish-Khan serves as Education Director at Broadway Bound Kids, a New York City based arts education non-profit whose mission is to create accessible arts education for all students. Her work at BBK centers around crafting programming that aids social emotional learning and celebrates students unique voices. A celebrated director and music director, Samantha nurtures free musical theater programs in NYC serving over 2,250 kids annually. Also a musical theater performer, Samantha has performed all over the country on National Tours, and regionally in NYC. A recent transplant to the Triangle, Samantha was eager to find her place in the Raleigh Theater Community. NRACT immediately welcomed her and straightaway felt like home. Samantha is thrilled to join the board and aims to bring her years of non-profit theater experience to support the already stellar work happening at NRACT.
SAMANTHA PARRISH-KHAN
Sean Robert (he/they) is returning to the NRACT Board of Directors, having previously served from 2019 to 2025 as Treasurer, Vice President, and Volunteer Coordinator. Prior to this, Sean dedicated time as a Board Member and Treasurer for the Cary Playwrights' Forum from 2017 to 2021. Sean’s lifelong passion for theatre began with an appearance in a youth musical. For over a decade, they have been an active part of the Triangle theatre community, contributing as a performer, director, producer, crew member, and volunteer. In 2014, Sean founded The Rejects, a group that produces script readings and workshops for local actors. They made their NRACT stage debut in the 2015 Miscast Cabaret and have continued to support numerous productions and volunteer initiatives since. Sean originally hails from upstate New York and has called North Carolina home for nearly twenty years.
SEAN ROBERT
Sharon Galluzzo is a business strategist, speaker, author, entrepreneur, and longtime advocate for community theater. While she spends her professional life helping business owners build stronger, more profitable companies through her company, Profit Connections, she has also been an active member of the NRACT family since 2011 as both a performer and supporter.
Currently serving her second year on the Board of Directors and stepping into the role of Secretary, Sharon joined the board during a period of organizational transition, believing it was the right time to contribute her professional experience in a more formal capacity and help support the theater's continued growth.
What Sharon loves most about community theater is the community itself—the collaboration, creativity, and shared commitment that make the magic of live theater possible. She believes everyone has a role to play, whether on stage, backstage, in the audience, or behind the scenes. Whether performing, volunteering, or serving on the board, Sharon is passionate about helping others succeed and ensuring local theater continues to thrive for generations to come.
SHARON GALLUZZO
Tedd Szeto (he/him) is serving his third term as president of the NRACT board, leading the theater through a successful leadership transition, record-setting fundraising campaign and box office sales, and continued recognition as a premiere community theater in the Triangle. Tedd earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from UCLA and spends his days as the undergraduate dean in NC State’s Poole College of Management. His nights are usually occupied with rehearsing and doing shows all around town, and the rest of his time - he's at home with three teenagers and two doggoes.
TEDD SZETO
Tim lives in Raleigh and works in laboratory automation. He and his family have been coming to NRACT for almost twenty years and are so grateful for its presence. Local theater sparks creativity, togetherness, and joy, and he’s excited to be part of that.
TIM WOODHOUSE
Victoria is super excited to return to the NRACT Board! She holds a BFA in Design and Technical Production from UNCG and is currently an elementary theatre teacher. Besides teaching full-time, she also teaches classes and camps at NRACT! Victoria has called NRACT her second home for over half of her life now and can’t wait to make it home for everyone else!
VICTORIA WOEST
After a rewarding career as a software engineer, Vincent now enjoys dedicating his time to the arts and to organizations that enrich our community. As both an artist and a member of the Board of Directors for North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre (NRACT), Tim values the creativity, collaboration, and lifelong learning that community theatre inspires. His experience in technology has taught him the importance of thoughtful planning, problem-solving, and teamwork—skills he now brings to supporting NRACT’s mission. He is committed to helping the theatre grow through strong governance, community engagement, and sustainable fundraising while ensuring it remains an inclusive and welcoming place where performers, volunteers, and audiences can experience the transformative power of live theatre.
VINCENT MOSS
Will recently relocated from the DC metro area to North Raleigh’s Greystone Village, where NRACT quickly became his creative home and a meaningful way to connect with the Raleigh theatre community. As he begins his second year of service on the NRACT Board of Directors, he looks forward to continuing to support the theatre's growth and visibility through his work on the Marketing Committee. A lifelong theatre enthusiast, Will has worked as both an actor and director, most recently appearing as Robert in Proof at NRACT. Professionally, he serves as Vice President of Marketing Communications and Membership for the National Association of Independent Schools, bringing extensive experience in strategic communications, branding, and audience engagement to his board service. He holds a B.A. in Theatre from James Madison University and is honored to help advance NRACT's mission and strengthen its impact throughout the Raleigh community.
