Acting: Scene Study

GRADES 7-12

This scene study class will give students the chance to practice the fundamentals of stagecraft in a variety of scenes and styles. Students will gain valuable experience by analyzing scenes, developing characters, and being directed for a performance on stage.

Thursdays from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Improvisation Class

GRADES 7-12

Students will learn the techniques of Improvisational Theatre in a safe and fun environment that fosters teamwork and creativity. Through games and exercises students learn commitment, scene work, and how to create characters in a moment’s time -- all without a script! The class will present a final performance.

Advanced Improvisation Class

GRADES  7-12

You understand the improv basics. You are ready to dive in deeper!

In this class, we will focus on being clear, yet malleable in your thought process. Be ready to heighten your listening skills and overall sense of awareness! students will be reminded that creating a relatable story/scene requires these main elements

  • Confidence in what you know to be true in that moment.

  • An attentive ear, ready to accept verbal “gifts/offers” while your eyes are always looking for non verbal “gifts/offers”.

  • A sense of urgency to “meat” of the scene, but without rushing the moment.

  • Readiness to laugh at yourself and praise your peers.

To be eligible you must have at least 3 class sessions with any improvisational instructor/institution before taking this class.

The class presents a final performance.
