Toppling the Pyramid: An Introduction to Tectonic Theater’s Moment Work Method10-hour WorkshopMoment Work is a devising and directing technique developed by Tectonic Theater Project, best known for The Laramie Project. It builds performance through the layering of theatrical “moments” using elements such as light, sound, props, costumes, movement, and architecture. This workshop is designed for adult actors, directors, and designers interested in exploring a more collaborative approach to creating theatre.

In this 10-hour workshop, participants will:
Learn the philosophy and principles of the Moment Work method
Create original moments using gesture, space, objects, light, sound, and text
Collaborate to devise a short, informal theatrical piece using Moment Work
About the Instructor:
Peter Comperatore has taught and directed with NRACT and served as a WCPSS Theatre Arts teacher since 2007. He is a certified Moment Work teacher, trained directly by Tectonic Theater Project.

About the Instructor:
Romni Rossi has been an improv teacher in the Triangle area for over 20 years, teaching at NRACT since 2002. She is a founding member of Venus Fly Trap Comedy (2018), and a member of Raleigh’s Village Idiots Improv Troupe (1998).
